Target description

As of Feb 2026, Sierra Leone continued to show improved performance in anti-corruption ranking 109 out of 182 countries surveyed, with a CPI score of 34 out of 100, exceeding Africa’s average and achieving 71% score in MCC’s control of corruption

Target Baseline

" In 2023, Sierra Leone achieved its best ever performance on TI Index, 108 out of 180 countries surveyed, with a CPI score of 35 out of 100 in 2023 which was above Sub-Saharan average, getting a 77% score on the MCC scorecard for control of corruption."

Comment on Target

Current global ranking on anti-corruption and progress since 2023 is largely maintained. However, public perceptions of government’s handling of corruption dropped by 14% points according to the 2025 Afrobarometer results with strong concerns about the integrity system in managing large-scale infrastructure projects, revenue generation and public-private partnerships.
